Soccer Season Ends

  The VCSD Soccer League's regular season came to a close Saturday
with the Panthers taking the league title on a 3-0 win over the Bucks.
Two goals by Martinez and one by Chapman gave the Panthers the margin
of victory.
  In other games last Saturday the Spurs edged the Rovers 2-1 in the
opening game. Scoring for the Spurs were Bob Keyes and Bob Moore while
Larry Roach scored for the Rovers. Chuck Weatherton's third quarter goal
gave the Wildcats a 1-0 win over the Tigers. The Shamrocks and the Ocelots
played to a 0-0 tie. The Bobcats downed the Pumas 2-0 on goals by Jim Tyler
and Dave Anderson.
  With regular league play completed, the teams are looking ahead to
the play-off games starting Jan. 6.
