"Harydisms"
-- "I'm against professionalism or 'creaming the crop' while ignoring the average or below average boy. Teaching has taught me that students often learn more from other students than they do from teachers."

-- "The under 12 and younger age group is very crucial. When a boy reaches thirteen or fourteen he either loves the game or doesn't, he either has learned a pattern of successful behavior or he has become a mental dropout to life."

-- "Most coaches don't realize what a human being, particularly a young person, is really all about. Just think of what happens when a boy brings his mother and father to a game and possibly his grandparents are there also. This boy has been faithful at practice and because this is a 'crucial' game the coach doesn't even put him in the game." He paused, "Just imagene what that does to the boy, his image of himself and his parents' attitude toward the game."

-- "Coaches must realize that each boy represents a mass of creative human energy which, if a coach sacrifices for the sake of 'winning at all costs', will be damaged by his greed."
