Dublin United Soccer League Mission & Philosophy
The Dublin United Soccer League began in October of 1967 and was then known simply as the Dublin Soccer League. The league was started by Mr. Ed Hardy, a Math and P.E. teacher at Fallon School and was sponsored by the Valley Community Services District (VCSD).
In it's first season, there were 10 teams made up of 4th through 6th grade boys who played a 9 game season. In a three way battle for first place, the league winner was the Panthers (8-0-1) who finished just ahead of the Spurs (8-1-0) and the Wildcats (7-1-1) at the end of the season.

The Dublin Soccer League grew quickly and was very successful. In the 1969-70 season, the Dublin Under-12 boys became State Champions. The California Youth Soccer Association's newsletter, "Korner Kicks", printed an article titled "The Dublin Story" which highlighted the Dublin Soccer Leagues success. Ed Hardy was interviewed providing insights to his philosophy on playing and coaching Soccer.

DUSL was developed to provide talented young women and men with the opportunity to play the sport of soccer at the highest available level of competition and, through soccer, to develop as individuals with a focus on character, teamwork, attitude and discipline.

The Club is structured, first and foremost, to serve the evolving needs of the soccer player from the earliest stages of technical development through preparation for collegiate soccer and beyond. Our mission revolves around incorporating the concepts of technique, attitude, balance and speed to create exceptional players who approach training and matches with honesty, integrity, fairness, and the will to compete and win. The Club is committed to providing players with high-quality training and competition to assist and enable their individual development. It is the stated goal of the Club to consistently demonstrate the exceptional nature of our players and teams by achieving team and Club success at the State, regional and national levels.

The goals of our Club can only be achieved by understanding and nurturing the unique contributions of all of the members of the Dublin community. Players, Coaches, Staff, Parents, Volunteers and the Board of Directors all play a critical role in the ultimate achievement of the Club’s goals.
